Where does personal style end and a landscape begin? In collaboration with Neterwala & Aibara, this penthouse duplex is a series of botanical experiments designed to mirror the playful style of the homeowners. This terrace was not envisioned as a garden, but as an extension of their personality—a playground that prioritizes attitude over tradition.

The project is a deliberate departure from the safe botanical palette of Mumbai's rooftops. We leaned into the cultural hesitation toward structural succulents and brought in cacti as living sculptures. It was a choice born of both rebellion and physics; these desert specimens are among the few that truly thrive in the high-velocity, salt-sprayed winds of a coastal skyscraper. To find pieces with the right "attitude," we scouted farms from Mumbai to Gujarat, hand-selecting architectural forms that could hold their own against the skyline.
To be clear, this is not a desert-scape. It is lush tropicalia, where the cacti act as the "wows" against a lush buffer of philodendrons and palms. To blur the line between the indoor spaces and the sky-deck, we custom-designed the entire collection of ceramic and fiber vessels. We treated these planters as bespoke furniture, ensuring the textures and silhouettes mirrored the interior's sophistication. The transition isn't seamless; it is invisible.
The soul of the space is in the tactile "close-up." We composed tabletop landscapes where rare, oozing succulents and low-slung cacti create textural contrast against the hard-edged architecture. By anchoring the perimeter with greenery, we kept the floor plate open for hosting and entertaining. This is a space where personality trumps tradition—a cinematic frame for the horizon that is effortless, architectural, and cool.
